How Many QBs and TEs to Draft

In a standard single-QB, single-TE league you should draft two quarterbacks and two tight ends: a starter plus one backup at each, so you can cover byes and injuries without wasting bench space. If you land an elite, every-week starter at either position, you can carry just one and use the extra roster spot on upside running backs or receivers.

Quarterbacks

One QB1 you trust plus one backup is plenty in single-QB leagues. If you drafted a top-five quarterback, streaming a second is rarely necessary. If you waited on QB, carry two mid-tier arms with good matchups so you can play the better one each week. (Superflex is different, see our superflex guide.)

Tight ends

If you draft one of the few elite tight ends, one is enough, the weekly advantage is worth it and you free up a bench spot. If you wait on tight end, draft two mid-range options and stream the better matchup, or hold one and churn the position on waivers.

Do not over-invest

Every extra QB or TE on your bench is a running back or receiver you cannot roster, and depth at RB/WR is what wins leagues. Use those spare spots on upside and handcuffs instead. Check current values on our rankings and cheat sheet.
